Alone at sea
Just you, the boat, the elements. No outside assistance. Those principals are what define the gruelling challenge that is La Solitaire. Every year, sailors from around the world take part in what is widely regarded as the worlds toughest offshore sailing competition. Sailing for days at a time, non-stop, solo, this race is not for the faint hearted.

Where champions are born
Wherever you look in offshore racing you will find Figaro sailors. From the Vendee Globe to The Ocean Race, the Fastnet to the Sydney Hobart, so many of the winning skippers cut their teeth in the Figaro class. This is where champions are born.

The purest test
Unlike most offshore races, the Figaro class boats are identical. Differences in performance are down to skill alone. It is that which makes this challenge so hard and so rewarding. As if winning a round the world race wasn't enough, Vendee Globe skippers will return to the Figaro class to demonstrate their worth.
